The perfect piece of wearable steampunk art! “Time in a bottle”. This one of a kind keepsakes necklace features a vintage glass bottle circa 1940’s, filled with various antique, circa 1920 to 1940’s, watch parts, gears, wheels and a filigree silver key.
Two beautifully detailed, antiqued patina filigree caps with a genuine freshwater pearl, have been added to the top of the screw on lid.
The bottle has been attached to an ornate toggle clasp. This allows the wearer to easily put on and take off the necklace. An antiqued patina brass oval link chain, completes the necklace. The glass bottle/vial pendant measures: 1-3/4 inches tall and 5/8-inches in diameter.

A beautifully detailed, filigree cap with black faceted glass bead has been added to the top of the screw on lid.

I’ve a adorned the key with an antique 1940’s ladies “Bulova” wrist watch movement mounted on an ornate, antiqued sterling silver over brass filigree accent.
This exquisite, Swiss made vintage watch movement was produced by the world-renowned, Bulova Watch Co. Beautifully designed and well finished, these movements display brilliant genuine ruby jewels, exposed gold gears and highly polished gold gilded steel plates.
I’ve embellished the timepiece with an antique steel pocket watch gear, set with a faceted aquamarine blue Swarovski crystal stone, which has been securely placed on the movement.
The key hangs from a lovely, soldered antiqued silver (gun-metal) oval and round link chain with lobster clasp.
The chain length is: 22-inches long.

I’ve a adorned the key with an antique 1940’s ladies 17-ruby jewel, Swiss made wristwatch mounted on antiqued sterling silver over brass filigree.
The watch movement is embellished with a watch gear, set with a blue faceted Swarovski crystal stone, which has been securely placed on the movement.
The key hangs from a lovely ornate antiqued silver toggle clasp attached to a 24-inch long, oval link chain. The necklace is unique and easy to wear due to the toggle clasp being in front, making it incredibly functional and decorative.

Incredibly unique, the mixture of themes; Nature, Victorian, Steampunk, with a bit of Glamor, are the perfect compliments to this stunning piece of wearable art.
There are so many features and details to discover with this necklace. All of the vintage antique elements that I listed below, range in age from circa 1860 to 1940. It took much time to find each individual unique item, to configure the design and then to take it from raw materials, adding each detail and painstakingly hand creating each component into this amazing necklace. All I can tell you is that it was such a labor of love and I think that is well represented in the finished piece.
List of antiquities, jewels and treasures used in the making of this Steampunk Jewelry Statement Necklace:
Two antique gold brass clock gears both salvaged from a 1900’s grandfather clock that had been considered unrepairable.
The larger clock gear I’ve stacked with a layer of floral motif filigree in Sterling silver over brass, and an exquisite antique circa 1900’s mens Swiss made hand finished pocket watch movement, with brilliant genuine ruby jewels set in solid gold jewel settings, exposed gold gears and highly polished steel plates. The watch mechanism is adorned with a antiqued gold, highly detailed dragonfly, that I hand set with two vintage steel watch gears, Swarovski crystal faceted stones and a lovely antiqued gold flower with watch gear and Swarovski crystal stone. A highly detailed antiqued gold tulip with three genuine pearl stamen drops, complete this one component of the necklace.
The smaller gear is set with a hand engraved ladies Swiss made hand finished pocket watch movement circa 1900’s as well. I’ve added a smaller floral motif Victorian inspired dragonfly in antiqued gold, set with three vintage watch gears and Swarovski crystal faceted stones, along with a antiqued steel watch gear set with a 1.0 carat faceted cubic zirconia stone, that I prong set.
On This Steampunk Jewelry Statement Necklace the smaller gear has six lovely drops hanging from the bottom of the gear:
Victorian inspired antiqued gold scroll motif bezel set with an antique ladies Swiss made wristwatch movement circa 1940’s, embellished with a vintage gear and Swarovski crystal stone.
Gold Gilded antique circa 1860’s handmade Fusee pocket watch balance bridge, exquisitely hand engraved and set with the original rose-cut, GENUINE Diamond end stone. I’ve also added two Swarovski crystal faceted stones at the bottom of the bridge.
Stunning, faceted smokey quartz celestial crystal drop capped in antiqued silver filigree.
Antique circa 1940’s glass vial/bottle that I’ve filled with various vintage watch parts and capped in antiqued silver filigree and black crystal.
Genuine antique Victorian skeleton key.
Antiqued gold lacy bezel, set with a vintage circa 1890’s, porcelain pocket watch dial and adorned with a steel watch gear with Swarovski crystal faceted stone.
Making up the center of this Steampunk Jewelry Statement Necklace is:
I hand wire wrapped three faceted vintage jet black crystal beads that intermingle with two gold leaf charms and a hand hammered antiqued silver (gun-metal) over copper circle link chain.
Both strands drape beautifully, as they connect from watch to watch. The remainder of the piece, is made up of double strands of antiqued gold rope chain with hand wire wrapped, gold filigree capped vintage black crystal beads, in various sizes on one side and antique glass vials/bottles filled with vintage watch parts and capped in antiqued silver filigree and more black crystal beads on the other.
A large antiqued gold lobster clasp with chain 4-inch extension and black faceted Swarovski crystal briolette drop completes this gorgeous necklace.
The necklace measures: 24-inches long at its shortest or use the chain extension to lengthen it up to 28-inches if desired.
This is a truly, one of a kind jewelry art necklace and something that will be surely treasured for generations.
