Vintage Pocket Watch Case Necklace in Sterling Silver Hand Engraved Flowers with Heart Pendant Gears and Tanzanite Locket

A truly phenomenal piece of statement jewelry, you’ll will fall in love with this gorgeous one of a kind keepsake locket necklace!

This incredibly fascinating piece is made from a antique circa 1880 Sterling Silver Swiss made pocket watch case, with original beveled glass crystal.

Rarely do you have the opportunity to own a magnificently 130+ year old handmade piece such as this one, so I was thrilled to come across this case.

By far this is one of the most exquisitely hand engraved cases I have had the pleasure of collecting.

The entire case from front to back is expertly engraved with a leaf and floral scroll motif design, it absolutely breathtaking!

The back of the case also features a shield that is perfect for monogramming.

The pocket watch case is embellished with a highly detailed antiqued Sterling Silver over brass Heart charm. Also within the case is a faceted 2.0+ carat cushioned shaped Violet Tanzanite Swarovski crystal stone and a variety of vintage circa (1870 to 1950) watch cogs, gears and wheels made of brass and steel.

The case itself is in fantastic condition for its age, it has a few minor blemishes here and there, which just adds to its old world charm. The hand engraving is intact and in excellent condition, which is uncommon for a precious metal watch case that is over 130+ years old.

Sterling Silver pocket watch cases are becoming increasingly rare and are incredibly hard to come by in good shape. I was absolutely thrilled that I was able to recover this watch and repurpose it as a jewelry piece. Typically many of these beautiful watches are fated to be melted down for precious metal value.

The pocket watch case suspends from a Victorian styled floral bail, that I’ve fashioned from a piece of sterling silver over brass filigree.

A soldered silver beaded link chain with lobster clasp completes the necklace.

The watch case measures: 1-1/2 inches in diameter and the watch case & pendant bail is 2-1/2 inches tall.

The length of necklace/chain is: 24-inches long.
