This incredibly fascinating piece is made from a antique circa 1880 Victorian Sterling silver mans Swiss made pocket watch case, with original beveled glass crystal.
This lovely 130+ years old Sterling silver mans pocket watch case is most likely completely handmade. The front and back bezels were originally rose gold gilded (Vermeil), which over the years has mostly diminished.
The back of the watch is beautifully hand engraved with a lovely Spirograph patterned motif with a framed circle in the very center which would be perfect for monogramming.
A highly detailed antiqued Sterling silver over brass sparrow bird is captured inside the case, along with various antique watch gears, wheels, cogs, (Circa 1870 to 1940) and a large faceted oval-shaped 3.0 carat brilliant genuine Amethyst gemstone.
The case itself is in great condition for its age, it does have some dings here and there, which is typical for a watch case that is over 130+ years old, and just adds to the old world charm!
The pocket watch case suspends from a Victorian styled bail I've fashioned from a piece of sterling silver over brass filigree.
A antiqued silver chain, with lobster clasp closure completes the necklace.
The watch case measures: 1-7/8 inches in diameter and 3-1/4 inches long.
The length of necklace/chain is: 24-inches long.
