The perfect piece of wearable Steampunk art!

This handmade one of a kind necklace features a hard to come by 17 ruby jewel antique circa 1940, guilloche engraved, Hamilton watch movement.

I was thrilled when I found this particular movement. As a watchmaker I have always loved "Hamilton" watches, they are exceptionally made time pieces and highly prized among collectors and watch enthusiasts.

This watch mechanism was originally housed in a 14k solid gold case, however its previous owner had scrapped the case for its gold value. I was able to salvage the inner workings which no longer functioned as a timepiece and re-purpose it into an amazing piece of Industrial Steampunk jewelry!

This stunning vintage American made watch movement was produced by the prestigious Hamilton watch Co. Hamilton is known for some of the most beautiful hand finished, high grade and collectible watches in the world.

The pocket watch itself is absolutely gorgeous, the incredibly ornate pinstripe guilloche engraving, is breathtaking! The combination of the pin-striping engraving, high polished steel plates and gears, the gold brass wheels and brilliant genuine ruby jewels mounted in raised solid gold settings, make for an absolutely exquisite pendant.

The watch is embellished with a detailed antiqued silver Victorian inspired pansy flower bail which is securely fastened onto the watch by a steel screw and embellished with a antique watch gear set with a Swarovski crystal stone.

An antiqued adjustable, oval link chain, with lobster clasp completes the necklace.

The pendant measures: 1-1/2 inches long and the diameter of the watch is: 1-inch.

The length of necklace is: 18-inches.

DESCRIPTION:

Get yourself noticed with this exceptional, one of a kind handmade, Couture Steampunk Statement necklace.

Incredibly unique, the combination of themes; Victorian, Steampunk and nature are the perfect compliments to this stunning piece of wearable art.

There are so many wonderful details to discover with this necklace. All of the vintage antique elements that I listed below, range in age from circa 1890 to 1940. It took much time to find each individual unique item and to configure the design. Taking the raw materials, adding each element and painstakingly hand creating each component of this amazing necklace was a labor of love.

Let start with the center focal piece:

I utilized a antique circa 1890, hand finished ornately guilloche engraved, two-tone Swiss made 11 ruby jewel pocket watch movement. I paired this stunning watch with a Sterling Silver over brass floral motif filigree frame.

The pocket watch itself is absolutely gorgeous! I love the combination of contrasting gold and silver gears, screws and wheel plates. Brilliant genuine ruby jewels, exposed gears and spectacular checkered and scroll motif engraving make for an exquisite timepiece.

I've added two embellishments to the pocket watch. The first is a antique steel watch gear set with a faceted 1.5 carat genuine garnet and the second is a Victorian inspired, antiqued gold floral motif dragonfly decorated with three vintage watch gears set with red Swarovski crystal stones. A beautiful garnet res cubic zirconia faceted briolette drop capped in filigree and topped with a genuine pearl completes center piece.

The two smaller watches on either side of the center focal pendant are a set of matching Swiss made wristwatches, circa 1940. Each of these watch movements displays brilliant genuine ruby jewels, exposed gold brass gears and highly polished gear plates.

I've adorned both of the watch mechanisms with a steel antique watch winding gear, set with a faceted red Swarovski crystal stone.

I also fashioned an ornate prong setting/bezel out of a piece antiqued silver filigree, to keep the watches safe, secure and to add to the beauty of the necklace.

The remainder of the this Statement piece is made up of hand wire wrapped, round and bicone garnet red Swarovski crystal beads (Some capped in Sterling silver over brass filigree), silver flower adornments and Victorian styled accents. All of these lovely baubles leads to dual strands of gunmetal rolo link chain with a secure lobster clasp closure.

A 4-inch extension and garnet red faceted Swarovski crystal drop completes this gorgeous necklace.

The necklace measures: 18-inches long at its shortest or use the chain extension to lengthen it up to 22-inches if desired.

The center piece/focal with pocket watch measures: 2-3/4 inches long by 1-/34 inches in diameter.

Both of the smaller matching watches in filigree bezels measure: 1-1/8 inches in diameter.

This is a truly, one of a kind jewelry art necklace and something that will be surely treasured for a lifetime.

A wonderfully detailed antiqued sterling silver over brass, filigree flower and leaf motif Victorian inspired mounting, serves as the frame for this gorgeous piece of wearable Steampunk art!

This is a perfect example of a well made and hand finished pocket watch. Expertly designed and hand finished, the watch movement displays ornately engraved steel gear train plates, 15 brilliant genuine ruby jewels, exposed gold brass gears, highly polished steel wheels and accents.

I've embellished the mechanism itself with various hand picked, antique steel watch winding gears, set with two sizes of faceted blue aquamarine Swarovski crystal stones.

I hand wire wrapped two stunning, draping bead strands, making up the center of this elegant necklace. The two strands consists of hand faceted, oval shaped genuine blue aquamarine gemstones, round pacific blue opal Swarovski crystals and genuine white pearls. .

Both strands hang beautifully, as they connect from the watch to a decorative ring holding a Victorian inspired, antiqued silver decorative skeleton key charm, a filigree capped faceted genuine aqua blue Chalcedony (Agate) teardrop briolette with genuine pearl and a guilloche engraved antique circa 1900, Elgin ladies pocket watch balance cock bridge, that is set with a aquamarine blue Swarovski crystal stone and finished with a filigree capped genuine pearl drop.

I've adorned the necklace further with a gorgeous antiqued silver highly detailed leaf, which I've securely attached (Wire wrapped) a lovely filigree butterfly that is adorned with antique watch gears set with blue Swarovski crystal faceted stones. Additional genuine pearls, blue opal Swarovski crystal round faceted beads, and a lovely aquamarine blue, faceted octagon crystal bead, capped in antiqued silver filigree accents make up a portion of the chain.

An antiqued silver over brass, oval link chain with ornate toggle clasp (Located on the front of the piece), completes this elegant and highly detailed necklace.

The necklace measures: 18-inches long.

A antiqued silver (Gunmetal), oval and round link chain with lobster clasp and 4-inch chain extension, completes this elegant and highly detailed necklace.

The necklace measures 17-inches long and can also be worn up to 21-inches long, by using the chain extension.

I've embellished the pocket watch mechanism with two antique steel watch winding gears set with a faceted genuine garnet gemstone.

The watch is embellished with an antiqued silver Victorian inspired flower bail, that has been tightly and securely screwed onto the watch.

An antiqued silver round link and beaded chain with lobster clasp, completes the necklace.
