Truly a phenomenal piece of statement jewelry.
This incredibly fascinating piece is made from a antique circa 1890 Victorian Sterling Silver Swiss made pocket watch case, with original beveled glass crystal.
This lovely 120+ year old Sterling silver pocket watch case was completely handmade.
The back of the case features a hand engraved French moire pattern and a cartouche, with the ornately monogrammed initials: "LM"
The pocket watch case is embellished with a highly detailed antiqued brass dragonfly charm. Also within the case is a 1.0+ carat oval shaped Lab Created Opal gemstone. A variety of vintage circa (1870 to 1950) watch cogs, gears and wheels made of brass and steel also have been safely nestled within the case.
The case itself is in terrific condition for its age, it has a few minor blemishes here and there which just adds to its old world charm. The hand engraving is intact and in wonderful condition, which is rare for a precious metal watch case that is over 120+ years old.
The pocket watch case suspends from a Victorian styled bail I've fashioned from a piece of sterling silver over brass filigree.
A soldered antiqued silver beaded oval link chain with lobster clasp completes the necklace.
The watch case measures: 1-1/4 inches in diameter and the watch case & pendant bail is 2-1/8 inches tall.
