I remarkably came upon this piece while at an estate sale. The watch mechanism had been removed prior to my discovery of this amazing watch.
Unable to restore the watch to it previous state, I was able to give it a new life and repurpose it as the necklace you see before you to be cherished for generations to come.

This Rare Late Victorian antique circa 1880, 18K solid gold Swiss made watch case was completely handmade. The entire body, back and front of the case has been exquisitely decorated with a starburst pattern of guilloche enameling in vibrant colors of Teal and Red accented in Black. Between each diamond frame of enamel is an intricate etched design.
This is an exceptional art piece, the pictures just don't do it justice!
Embellishments:
Captured within the pocket watch case is a repurposed Late Victorian (1880 – 1890) handmade filigree earring (It was a single) made from Vermeil (Sterling Silver with Gold Wash) and set with a cushion shaped 1.0cttw Genuine Garnet gemstone.
A variety of vintage circa (1870 to 1920) watch cogs, gears and wheels made of brass and steel are also included along with another 3.0cttw of sparkling faceted Genuine Garnets in various cuts and shapes in round, heart, marquise and oval.
The pendant is adorned with a hand fashioned bail made from a an antiqued brass filigree.
Condition:
The case itself is in fabulous condition for being 135+ years old. The enameling is mostly intact. There are some spots on the back lid by the bottom hinge that have missing areas of enameling. Overall there is very little wear on the piece which is quite unusual for a watch case over a century old.
Neck Chain:
The pocket watch case suspends from a secure soldered solid rope chain in Vermeil (Sterling Silver with 18K Gold wash), with lobster clasp closure.
The length of necklace/chain is: 22-inches long.
Measurements:
The watch case measures: 1-1/4 inches in diameter. The case is 2-1/4 inches tall including the filigree bail.
Metal: Guaranteed Tested and Assayed Solid 18K Yellow Gold.
