You will fall in love with this gorgeous one of a kind keepsake locket necklace!
This incredibly fascinating piece is made from an antique circa 1880 Victorian Sterling Silver and Rose Gold Vermeil Swiss made pocket watch case, with original beveled glass crystal.
Repurposing this stunning 130+ year old handmade engraved case was an absolute joy.
The front and back case bezels are beautifully adorned in Rose Gold vermeil. The back cover is also exquisitely hand engraved with the initials: “ES”.
The pocket watch case is embellished with a highly detailed antiqued Sterling Silver over brass Octopus charm. Also within the case is a 2.0+ carat faceted oval cut Purple Amethyst Swarovski crystal stone and a variety of vintage circa (1870 to 1950) watch cogs, gears and wheels made of brass and steel.
The case itself is in fantastic condition for its age, it has a few minor blemishes here and there, which just adds to its old world charm. The hand engraving is intact and in excellent condition, which is rare for a precious metal watch case that is over 130+ years old.
The pocket watch case suspends from a Victorian styled bail, that I’ve fashioned from a piece of sterling silver over brass filigree.
A soldered copper figure 8 link chain with lobster clasp completes the necklace.
The watch case measures: 1-1/4 inches in diameter and the watch case & pendant bail is 2-3/8 inches tall.
The length of necklace/chain is: 24-inches long.
